Master Bathroom TA DAH!

So lets take a tour of the bathroom...
Mirror above the toilet.  Which was in my potting shed.  And I'm not sure that I really like it in the bathroom, but it's ok for now.  Keep in mind we have not decorated yet, except for a few mirrors and such.
I did not get a good picture of the toilet, but it's a nice one.  And it sits high.

This is the bathroom vanity, which is new. The mirror is old.  I think it looks great together though.  When we added the mirror we thought it gave the vanity a dresser type look.

The tub is right across from the vanity.
It's a deep soaker tub with a slanted back.  We had three different types of "wall" around the tub before we decided on a plastic type bead board look.  The shelf is to add candles and ambiance, but I haven't gotten there yet!  The towel bar is has two purposes.  It is a towel bar, but it is also a handicap bar.  We have had instances in our lives where we've needed it, so we just put them up in the shower and tub.  As a matter of fact, all of our showers have handicap bars.
I showed you the chandelier in a previous post, but here you go again!

and again!  I love the way it casts shadows.
Dave ordered the faucet from a company on the internet. Have you ever looked at all of the faucets there are to choose from?  Did you know some come out of the tub, and some come out of the wall?  And on sinks there are close set, and not-close (I forget if they have a specific name)set faucets.  And some faucets have a base, and some don't.  I will tell you this....decisions are about to make me crazy right now!  Have I already mentioned that a time or two?  It's just that there are so many things I have never even thought about before.
I bought the soap dish/tray from a friend who was moving out of state.  I didn't have to think about that!  I just bought it!
See, our faucet comes out of the wall.  And because this tub has a wider lip area, we had to have a faucet come pretty far out.  If you ever visit and decide to take a bath, do not lean on it when getting in the tub!
Shower stall, separate from tub.  No big deal, just simple surround shower stall.  I haven't even showered in it yet.  We do have a huge shower head which I'm anxious to try.
This is the same flooring that we put down in the laundry room.  It's called Luxury Vinyl Tile or LVT and I'm thinking of using it in the kitchen too.  It is a rubbery type flooring that holds up very well in water.  Not to be confused with laminate.  And there are two kinds of LVT.  A type that you glue down, and a type that locks together, called floating.  This is floating.
Here is a picture standing from our bedroom doorway.
Whoops!  Almost forgot to show you a picture of these victorian looking corner protectors that are a pain in the butt to paint!  But I love how they look.
And here is a picture of the bathroom standing in the laundry room entryway.
Teaser......I finished the den tonight and Dave finished the powder room today before going to work.  Next up will be the den!

Bedroom TA DAH!

See that window....
 This one....

Inside that window is our new bedroom!

Wanna see it?  Here ya go!

This is me, watching Friends from bed!
Electric fireplace we bought new, with an antique mirror above it that Dave fixed up.
That door leads into the den, which I may or may not have already shown you,but I will show you again when it's more complete.

The door straight back leads to our closet.
I will show it two you once...and that's it!
 Here it is.

This little cupboard we bought from a friend, having no idea what we would do with it.  It's perfect for my scarves for now.
The other door, beside the closet door, was the bathroom door, which I will show you later, because I don't have any decent pictures to show...and I need to get to bed! So, I need to go upstairs....

Good night!

Little snippets of house stuff

I downloaded these pictures the other day so I'm going to go ahead and post them, however, Dave finished the bathroom today and I ordered kitchen cabinets today so WOOHOO!!!!  We're moving forward now.....
I'll post bathroom pics next....
For now,
This is the light we put above the tub.  It's on a dimmer, so there is relaxation and ambiance when taking a bath!
Light fixtures up!

Primed and painted the bathroom (this was probably two weeks ago)
Also a couple of weeks ago our replacement windows came in and Dave took the time to install them before the bad weather hits.  We've been lucky so far as it has only snowed one time.
The bathroom drain came in.  It actually came in once, but they only sent the top part (screen) so we had to return that and re-order.
See how the angle is on this drain....
it goes into this drain for the shower.
I finally got my kitchen cabinets the way I want them and I ordered them TODAY!
This is the island.
This is the wall with the window (our window does not look like that but it's all they had on Lowe's computer)
The sink in the above picture is not accurate.
My sink came in.

And check out this shower head!  And no we did not order a blue shower.  A couple of people thought we did!  This is a protective covering and it comes this way.
And Dave got part of a closet finished while waiting on drywall to dry.
Like I said, I downloaded these pictures last week and never had the time to get back to them.  I am going to download our bathroom pictures next.  Our plan is to move our bedroom upstairs so we will have more room in the one room we are living in.  It's been three years now (sigh)

I ordered a kitchen Sink!

I am so excited, I just ordered this sink for my kitchen!  I found a company that makes reproduction sinks.  Check it out here.

It's late and I'm tired but I just had to show someone what I ordered today!

House Building Frustrations.....or So We Wait!

Plumbing for tub in Master Bathroom is done and....
 Tub installed!
 Dave even took a bath!

Then he went to install the shower stall, and guess what...

the drain hole is right over a floor joist.  Huge design flaw!
The stall cannot be moved as the only way to move it is in the same direction as the joist.  The joist cannot be cut and reinforced because it is enclosed in a basement ceiling, so it is not accessible.  We did find a drain that drains at a 45 degree angle, and it has to be ordered online.  So we wait.
I am still trying to decide what to do about the kitchen.  Here are some design plans and the top one is the most recent.  Only I found out a couple of weeks ago, the fridge does not work where we planned on putting it all of this time.  So, that's on hold until I can either look at fridges or make another plan.  We are probably going to have to put it next to the dishwasher, which makes me lose counter space and top cabinet space.
So we wait.
We are trying to decide which of these doors we want.
to go between the den and the living/dining room (or great banquet hall)

We can't finish the trim until the door comes in.

Only we found out that the opening we have is 48 inches and standard is 60 inches.  So, we have to special order whatever we decide.  So we wait.
We did get the crown molding up in the den.

And lastly, I ordered some windows three weeks ago because they went bad.  You can tell because they are double pane windows and they are foggy in between the panes.  Which means gas is leaking out.  Well, the replacement windows arrived yesterday and they are the wrong kind.   I re-ordered them.  So we wait....

And people wonder why this house isn't done!  Really?
